A true work of art, with every artisan luggage tag, taking over 4 hours to delicately handcraft. These high-quality luggage accessories, are expertly produced from F&J Baker's leather, a recreation of the iconic and coveted leather, which was once produced during the early 17th to 20th century.
Each handstitched luggage tag, uses the same methods and principles as the original and legendary leather, in order to replicate the same unique colours, print, thickness, texture, handle, and hard-wearing properties.
Therefore, the materials used in creating this "Fox X Baker's Leather Luggage Tag", maintains the same strengths and hardwearing characteristics, which originally made the classic hide, so desired and renowned throughout the world.
Expertly cut by hand, with each stitch being constructed using a traditional saddlery, from leather by Bakers tannery in Colyton, England. The tag is then stitched using superior linen thread, using a two needle stitching method, which securely locks the elements into place. A smooth and even finish is created to the main tag, by bevelling, staining, and sanding the raw edges.
Completed with a complimenting strap, which is skilfully produced from Buttero leather. A full grained vegetable tanned leather, sourced from the world famous Walpier tannery in Italy. The strap itself is also hand cut, bevelled, polished and stitched, using the same practices as the handcrafted luggage tag. A contrasting solid brass buckle cast within the UK, is finally chosen to give the piece its traditional and distinctive character.

Highly considered as an extremely renowned material, within the leather goods industry. Russian leather was once considered a prized asset, during the times of Russia’s Imperial trade with the West. This type of leather soon became the preferred choice by luxury furniture makers, book binders and boot makers. Its popularity kept on rising for many centuries, but unfortunately during the years of disorder from the Russian Revolution, the secret art of the leather’s tanning was lost.
Initially created between the 17th and 20th century, using closely guarded secret techniques and recipes of mixed tree barks, tanning processes and coating. These practices were originally thought to have been lost, until some of the very first Russian leather hides were rediscovered, upon the shipwrecked 'Metta Catherina' during the 1970's.
The rediscovery of the leather in such fine condition, after spending many years under the sea, further confirms the high-quality nature of the methods and techniques used, in order to reproduce the coveted Russian leather.

Services to Russia
Due to the ongoing situation surrounding Russia, we shall not be offering shipment of any of our products to the country.
Whilist we are closely monitoring the events and circumstances, this shipping suspension will remain in place for the foreseeable future. However, should there be any further changes to this development, we will keep you informed.

Import regulations and duties
If you order goods from our site for delivery outside the UK & EU they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. In the unlikely event that you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 14 days of receipt and we would be happy to assist you with your return.
If you would like us to arrange your return shipment please get in contact. The cost of the return will be deducted from your refund or invoiced separately.

We cannot accept returns on any made-to-order or customised pieces. However, we are of course more than happy to accept returns on pre-order items and in stock products.
